| Newsletter January 7, 2009 The New Year always brings in renewed hope that this year will be better than the last. After the trying year we all experienced in 2008, whether it was the housing crisis, rainy weather, or our 401K’s and the stock market roller coaster ride, I think we are all looking forward to a better and great 2009. But greatness goes beyond just one year. It seems as if there are new teams in the World Series or Superbowl that were not there the year before. Sometimes, they play those playoff games, and are not heard from again for many years after that. But you can count on us being here, year-in and year-out. Strong and steady has been our strategy since we opened in 1865. I understand everyone’s concern during these uneasy economic times. The stock market continues on its correction path, some banks are struggling due to poor decision making during a white hot economy, and the media continues to pour fuel on the fire of people’s fears. We have been here since 1865 and we plan to be for many, many years. If you have any questions about the bank or its stability, stop in. My door is always open, and you are always welcome.
